In a world that constantly tells us to chase more, do more, and become more, it’s easy to lose sight of what truly matters. Our attention is pulled toward deadlines, responsibilities, finances, and expectations—often leaving us feeling stretched and overwhelmed. But Jesus offers us a different way to live, one rooted in trust and focus.
In Matthew 6:33, Jesus reminds us:
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
This verse is both an invitation and a promise. Jesus isn’t dismissing our needs—He’s redefining our priorities. When our focus is on God first, everything else finds its proper place. The pressure to figure everything out on our own begins to lift because we’re no longer carrying what was never meant to be ours to carry.
Seeking God first doesn’t mean ignoring responsibilities or pretending challenges don’t exist. It means choosing to put our trust in Him before our worries, our plans, or our fears. It’s a daily decision to align our hearts with His will and believe that He truly knows what we need—often better than we do.
This season of focus is about realignment. It’s about asking ourselves honest questions: What has been competing for my attention? What has quietly taken priority over God? And where do I need to shift my focus back to Him?
When we seek God first, we discover that He is faithful to provide. Peace replaces anxiety. Direction replaces confusion. Rest replaces striving. What we once chased begins to follow us as we walk in obedience and trust.
As we continue through this month, let Matthew 6:33 be our anchor. Let it remind us that a focused life is not a rushed life—it’s a surrendered one. When God is first, we don’t lack. We live from a place of confidence, knowing that everything we need will be added in His perfect timing.
So today, choose focus. Choose trust. Choose God first.
Because when your focus is right, your life begins to flow in the way it was always meant to.
