January invites us to slow down, realign, and focus. At the start of a new year, it’s easy to feel pulled in many directions—by expectations, pressure, unanswered questions, or even fear of the unknown. But God gently calls us back to a place of trust and clarity, reminding us that our future is not random or uncertain. It is held securely in His hands.
Jeremiah 29:11 (NLT) says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
This verse isn’t just comforting—it’s grounding. It shifts our focus from what we don’t know to who does know. God’s plans are intentional, purposeful, and good, even when the path forward feels unclear.
Focus doesn’t mean we have all the answers. It means we choose to fix our hearts on God’s character rather than our circumstances. When life feels uncertain, focus anchors us in truth. God’s plan is not dependent on our perfection, timing, or understanding—it’s rooted in His faithfulness.
Sometimes, trusting God’s plan requires releasing our own. We may have envisioned our lives unfolding a certain way, only to find ourselves in seasons of waiting, redirection, or pruning. Yet even in those moments, God is still working. What feels like a delay may actually be preparation. What looks like a detour may be divine protection.
This month of focus invites us to intentionally trust God—not just with our prayers, but with our expectations. When we focus on God’s promises instead of our problems, peace begins to replace pressure. Faith grows stronger when we stop trying to control outcomes and start believing that God is truly working all things together for our good.
As we move forward this year, let us focus on trusting God’s plans for our lives. Not halfway trust. Not conditional trust. But a surrendered trust that says, “God, I may not see the whole picture, but I trust the One who does.”
When our focus is on Him, our hope is renewed, our direction becomes clearer, and our hearts are strengthened. God’s plans are good—and they are still unfolding.
