Courage, consistency and waiting.

These 3 words do not typically belong in the same sentence. Nor do we associate theses words with ‘waiting’when we are in waiting season.

How do you define consistency?

Is it a trait you posses or is it but an after thought as you go about your day?

Oftentimes as women we see the state of being consistent as a trait that ‘other women’ have; you know, the ones who seem to have their life together.

Habakkuk is such a great example of what consistency looks Like in the face of hardship. He had every reason to give up and but instead throughout chapters 1,2 and 3 he remained before the Lord in prayer and praise.

These are moments of consistency throughout the 3 chapters of Habakkuk:

  • Habakkuk with consistent in going brofre the Lord in prayer for his present circumstances

  • Consistent in putting all the observations of his corrupt environment before the Lord

  • He waited on God to respond

  • He was consistent in his obedience to God in doing His instructions

  • He was consistent in prayer and worship

  • He was consistent in being in the presence of the Lord and understanding the need for Gods presence in his life

  • He was consistent of being in a position (alert) when/how God spoke to him

  • Consistent in pouring out his soul unto God

As Habakkuk remained constant in his wait for God it’s important that we be resolute in our minds that we will wait on God for He WILL come through for us.

1 Corinthians 15:58 (AMP)

"Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you...".

It takes great courage to wait especially when you have no option but to wait. The courage to endure in the waiting season comes from God. Do not underestimate the level of courage needed as you wait. He gives us courage and strength to our heart as mentioned in Psalm 27:14,

Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!” Psalms‬ ‭27‬:‭14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

As His daughters, it’s our job to keep waiting with patience on His timing with the same level of courage he gave to Joshua:

Having the courage to wait on God is done out of belief and the love we have for God. As His daughters; the plans He has for us are so incredible that we sometimes forget it includes waiting. It’s like waiting for your favourite meal to be cooked or your favourite desert to be cold enough to eat!!

Waiting on God for the answer or for guidance or direction is NOT a punishment; it’s done by a heavenly father who loves us sooooo much that he’s taking his time to come through for you on Hos perfect timing.

Please understand; waiting on God is NOT easy.  Nor did He ever promise it would be easy but just know that it might seem like you’re waiting alone but you’re not; His STRENGTH and COURAGE is with you as you wait. David has to wait nearly 20 years before he became a king, Abraham waited 25 years for a son, Hannah waited, Joesph waited, Elizabeth waited, Anna waited and many more in the Bible waited including Habakkuk for God to come through. Guess what; each time God came through at the right time.

As Habakkuk waited for his answer: you too can also wait with courage and strength given by God. Be consistent , be determined and just know in your waiting time God is with you.

The time will come when your waiting will come to an end and you will be able to rest and enjoy that answered prayer, live in that prophetic word, and walk in the fullness of Gods promise to you. Your time is come; just hold on a little longer for it wil SURELY COME TO PASS!!!
