Make Room for More: Stepping into God’s Promise of Expansion

Welcome to 2026! All glory and thanks be unto God who is allowed us to cross over into this new year.

The theme of 2026 year is The Year of Expansion.

There are seasons when God gently comforts us—and then there are seasons when He boldly stretches us. Expansion is one of those seasons. It is holy, intentional, and deeply personal. God’s call to expand is not about striving for more, but about making room for what He already intends to release.

In 1 Chronicles 4:10 (NLT), we encounter the simple yet powerful prayer of Jabez. He cried out to the God of Israel: “Oh, that you would bless me and expand my territory! Please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from all trouble and pain!”

Scripture then tells us something remarkable—God granted his request.

This prayer reveals a heart posture we can all learn from. Jabez did not ask for expansion apart from God; he asked for blessing with God’s presence, growth with God’s hand, and increase with God’s protection. True expansion flows from intimacy, dependence, and alignment with God’s will.

That same theme echoes powerfully in Isaiah 54:2–3 (NLT): Enlarge your house; build an addition. Spread out your home, and spare no expense! For you will soon be bursting at the seams.”

Notice the order. God commands His people to prepare before the promise manifests. The stretching comes before the overflowing. Faith is required to build bigger when the tent still looks empty. Expansion always begins on the inside—our faith, our vision, our obedience—before it ever shows up on the outside.

God is not calling us to expand out of ambition, but out of assignment. The promise to “spread out in all directions” is about occupying what God has already ordained. What once felt barren will overflow, not because of human effort, but because of divine increase.

Declarations for the Year of Expansion

As we step into 2026, we boldly declare this truth:

This is our appointed season of expansion.

We intentionally make room for what God is releasing.

We stretch our faith without fear and strengthen what sustains us.

We proclaim that the Lord is blessing us abundantly.

Our boundaries are increasing by His divine design.

God’s hand rests firmly upon this ministry and its mission.

We walk covered—protected from harm, lack, and limitation.

We grow in faith, clarity, and obedience.

We increase in worship, praise, and prophetic expression.

We rise in influence, spiritual authority, and kingdom impact.

We extend in every direction God leads—north, south, east, and west.

We step into new territory and embrace fresh assignments.

What was once empty now overflows with God’s provision.

We may be stretched, but we will not break.

We are growing stronger, not weary.

We are advancing forward, never defeated.

Expansion is God’s invitation to trust Him at a deeper level. It is not merely about growth in numbers, but growth in capacity—to carry more glory, steward more responsibility, and impact more lives. As you stretch, remember this: the same God who commands the expansion is the One who sustains it.

Let’s pray:

Father in heaven; help us to Make room for the promises we are believing you for. Gave us the strategy to build bigger. Give us the grace to stretch our capacity for more in you. Thank you for the expansion that is on its way. Father, we thank you for being with us every step of the way.
